Dracula by Bram Stoker

Why I Recommend This Book I'm not much for reading horror, but Bram Stoker's Dracula is really well-written and has a lot of interesting discussion points. I liked how the whole book is told through letters and journal entries and it is legitimately creepy. Get The Book Summary Jonathan Harker, a young lawyer (solicitor) from London travels to Transylvania to meet with Count Dracula, a rich nobleman. He is there to help the Count purchase an estate in England, where the Count plans to immigrate to. The business trip turns...

Novel Still Alice

Still Alice by Lisa Genova

Why I Recommend This Book This is a book that impacted me deeply. This novel puts you in the shoes of an accomplished and educated woman facing early-onset Alzheimer's disease. It deepened my empathy and understanding of those facing this disease that does not have a cure. Even a year after reading this book, I find myself thinking about it often. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Why I Recommend This Book If you haven't read this Jane Austen treasure, now is the time. While the movie renditions of this classic are great, I feel they really miss the wit and humor found in the book. There are moments in Pride and Prejudice that make me laugh out loud. Jane Austen really was a woman ahead of her time. (I am grateful to be of service and bring you content free of charge. In order to do this, please note that some links below are...

Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick

Why I Recommend This Book This book is fascinating. It gives an inside look to one of the most closed-off countries in the world through the lives of six different North Korean defectors. It was interesting to hear why each of them left and how they were able to manage it. I took a picture of the book with white chrysanthemums because I learned those are flowers the North Koreans use at funerals. After reading this book, I mourned for so many who lost their lives from...
